Mesa by Zaha Hadid
Here is the second of the new products Zaha Hadid is launching at Design Miami/Basel next week: a table for Vitra called Mesa.
The table will be on show at the Vitra Campus at Weil am Rhein close to Basel.

Dorktastic Style: Shade Blade, Your On-Head Solar Power Station
The Shade Blade is a design concept touted as "the ultimate pair of sunglasses." The visor on top is a solar array, charging up batteries that can power a variety of plug-and-play modules.
The designers say that someday small interchangeable devices will magically appear with on-board AM/FM, various two-way radios, a cellphone, and even vision transmission technology. And check out those built-in earphones, snaking their way around the bottom of your ear. Niiiice.
When they were designing this, did anyone consider that it's just extremely dopey looking? Well, looks aren't everything.

Designed by Sun Liang, the “Ring Faucet” “visually frames flowing water in a circular fashion, giving you a full view of the water just as it falls over the edge.”
The opening orifice at the spout end lets in natural light which illuminates the flowing water for a striking view. Water is ‘reinstated’ as a precious element, like a fine diamond
